The American Law Society is Proud to Announce that John F. Rooney has Been Accepted as a New Member of America's Top Lawyers

The American Law Society is proud to announce that John F. Rooney has been accepted as a new member of America's Top Lawyers.

Mr. Rooney represents numerous Fortune 500 companies in New England, and he heads up the firm's Toxic Tort practice, currently representing over 30 companies in asbestos and talc litigation throughout New England. He is known for his substantial experience defending natural gas utilities in complex technological, scientific and operational matters.

Mr. Rooney III is actively licensed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. His other practice areas are utility companies, fire and explosion cases, aviation law, contract actions, insurance fraud, sexual abuse matters, premises liability, and criminal law. 

He joined company Melick & Porter in 1986, prior to joining, he was a Senior Trial Attorney in the largest county in Massachusetts, where he was a represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in major felony prosecutions. John has also held numerous client seminars and lectures on a variety of topics, including product liability law, toxic tort law, Chapter 93A, jury trial practice, premises liability, and expert witness presentations.

John has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer, honored as a Top Lawyer by The Boston Globe, and has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating. He is an active participant in local town government for the Town of Southborough where he lives with his wife and two children. Mr. Rooney is an avid reader of classic literature and philosophy, a big Red Sox fan, and has competed in competitive boxing tournaments since age 10. 

His plan for the future is to continue to service his clients. American Law Society Board of Directors scrupulously reviews attorney qualification and eligibility through a nomination and selection process. It is a privilege to have Mr. John F. Rooney join the American Law Society.
