The American Law Society is proud to announce that George A. Gellis has been accepted as a new member. George’s reputation as a lawyer, his professional history of excellence and philanthropy, and two decades of growing legal experience, has captured the Board and accredited him among “America’s Top Lawyers”.
George A. Gellis is a managing director and founding shareholder of Gellis Law Group, a white-glove, New York-based law firm. Throughout his career, his practice centered on acting as outside corporate counsel for international private equity funds, pharmaceutical, and technology companies, as well as small- to mid-size cap corporate clients. Prior to founding Gellis Law Group (Gellis & Associates, P.C.) in 2009, George was engaged by several prominent New York law firms, as well as the general corporate counsel of a Wall Street-based private equity fund and a director of RGF AG, a Swiss-based private equity, and venture capital financial intermediary company.
Preceding to his role in Gellis Law Group, he has also worked as general counsel of Zuricher Energie Holdings AG, and as an executive vice-president and general counsel of the Midland Oil and Gas Limited (UK), where he oversaw all legal aspects of the company and its subsidiaries’ operations in the U.K., U.S., and Central Asia.
Over the years, Mr. Gellis has been involved in risk management, negotiation and coordination of complex cross-border transactions, joint ventures, private placements, and production sharing agreements with foreign governments, as well as all aspects of a shareholder, investor, public, and government relations. His main areas of concentration include corporate and commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, multinational corporate structures, technology and venture financing investments, international trade, and intellectual property.
A graduate of the Stern School of Business at New York University and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, George is a philanthropist and has founded, volunteered and served with numerous U.S.-based charities and associations, including No More Fear Foundation and Kids in Need Foundation.
