The American Law Society is Honored to Announce Jason H. P. Kravitt has Been Accepted as a New Member

The American Law Society is honored to announce Jason H. P. Kravitt has been accepted as a new member. Jason has been acknowledged as number top lawyer in Securitization, he is an outstanding leader and an incredible strategist. Apart from the field of practice, he has many accolades to his name in the legal education system as well. Jason’s reputation as an enthusiast in law and education, history of dedication in the securitization regulation, and excellence for practice has earned him the recognition of the Boards “America’s Top Lawyer”.

Mr. Kravitt is a Partner at Mayer Brown, one of 15 renowned law firms in the world, he is also a key founder of Mayer Brown’s Securitization practice and was co-chair of the firm from 1998-2001. His role was pivotal in regulatory initiatives of Securitization by participating and chairing seminars and conferences on securitization. He has also contributed numerous articles for legal journals, professional publications and is also an Editor of, and a contributing author to, the two-volume treatise, Securitization of Financial Assets, Aspen Law & Business (2d ed. 2011).

The enormity of impact from his book in the financial community had Chambers quoting industry observers, saying that "His academic and practical contribution to the field is outstanding," that he "wrote the book on securitization, literally" and "has played a pivotal role in many regulatory initiatives." He has been chosen as one of the Top 100 Internationally Prominent Lawyers and one of the top securitization lawyers in New York City by Chambers. Euromoney Legal Media Group chose him as one of the “Best of the Best” in Structured Finance in the U.S and has also listed him in Euromoney’s Guides to the World’s Leading Capital Markets Lawyers. Financial Times named Jason as one of the 10 most innovative lawyers in America in 2010 and as the best lawyer in securitization in New York City.

Mr. Kravitt earned his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, also a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, serving as Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Dean of the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences. He received his diploma with a focus in Comparative Law from the University of Cambridge. A former adjunct professor of law at Northwestern University Law School and Finance professor at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and currently an adjunct professor at New York University Law School.
