The American Law Society is proud to announce its latest member, Blair J. Trautwein, the Founding Partner of Wick & Trautwein LLC, located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mr. Trautwein has earned recognition and the distinction to be among "America's Top Lawyers" by the American Law Society Board. The American Law Society is an invitation-only platform comprised of verified lawyers who demonstrate a history of excellence, diverse professional achievements, consistently contribute to the legal community and possess positive and ethical qualities of an esteemed lawyer.
Mr. Trautwein specializes health insurance matters, disability matters, plaintiff's cases, banking law, insurance bad faith cases, toxic torts, business fraud, employment law, personal injury as well as commercial and general litigation. He handles both non-complex and complex litigation and has been involved in over 40 jury trials. Mr. Trautwein practiced law first as an associate and then as a partner in Cheyenne with the firm of Hathaway, Speight, Kunz, Trautwein & Barrett from 1977 to 1995. He has practiced in Fort Collins with the predecessor and the current firm since 1995.
Mr. Trautwein is active in the community, having served on the Larimer County Board of Health, various Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce committees, as a director for the Fort Collins Baseball Club and with Project Smile, helping provide dental care to children in Fort Collins. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1977 and was a member of the Land and Water Law Review. He attended the University of Colorado in 1974 receiving his B.A. in Finance and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Mr. Trautwein grew up in Wyoming on a ranch west of Cheyenne and has been married to Suzanne Trautwein since 1974. They have two children, Mary, who is a Major in the United States Air Force, and John, who mentors children and produces a film for business and nonprofit entities.
