The American Law Society is proud to announce Walter Scott has been accepted as a new member. His reputation and history of excellence earned him the recognition of the Boards’ “Top Lawyer” Distinction.
For over 14 years Mr. Scott is a litigator at the firm Alston & Bird LLP, located in New York City. Walter’s practice focuses on all aspects of patent and trade secret litigation and counseling. Walter earned his J.D. at St. John’s University in 1984 following his M.A. in 1977 and B.A. in 1974 both from Western Michigan University.
Walter’s extensive experience resolving patent and trade secret disputes involving a wide range of issues and technical disciplines; including consumer products; pharmaceutical and veterinary products; agricultural products; metallurgy; office furniture; medical devices; polymers and’ business methods create a unique and thorough approach in patent & trade secret law.
Walter also has considerable experience in patent re-examinations, and interference proceedings, as well as other domestic and foreign patent prosecution matters. Additionally, he has advised clients with respect to transactional matters including their rights in patents, trade secrets, due diligence investigations and distribution, transfer, valuation and licensing of technology.
Mr. Scott’s is a current member of Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the New York Intellectual Property Law Association. He is admitted to practice both in New York and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
