The American Law Society is proud to announce Stephen J. Slocum has been accepted as a new member
Stephen’s dedication, reputation and, history of excellence earned him recognition and the Boards’ “America’s Top Lawyer” distinction. Mr. Slocum serves as managing director of The Sterling Law Group, A P.C., a California estate planning and business law firm rated by Super Lawyers. Mr. Slocum focuses his practice in estate planning and has a broad understanding of business law, offering advice in the areas of business organization and formation, contract, and shareholder/director disputes.
After his honorable discharge from the United States Navy in 1976, Mr. Slocum earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Industrial Marketing from San Diego State University in 1980. Thereafter, he embarked upon a profoundly successful career in sales with Nortel Networks, where he served as Director of Government Sales and Engineering for the 11 Western States. His awards speak to his success: he won every sales award offered within Nortel Networks; he is the only salesperson in Nortel’s 100-year history to win salesman of the year twice; and he earned the Masters Award for Executive of the Year, also from Nortel Networks.
In addition to his illustrious career with Nortel, Mr. Slocum served as the president and CEO of Convergence Services Inc., where his efforts to grow a start-up stimulated millions in yearly sales. Perhaps spurred by his prolific career, Mr. Slocum published his book The Secrets of an Entrepreneur-Create Space.
Mr. Slocum joined the American Law Society in order to network with other professionals and to increase the visibility of his practice. American Law Society's Board of Directors scrupulously reviews attorney qualification and eligibility through a nomination and selection process. It is a privilege and honor to have Stephen J. Slocum join the American Law Society.
