The American Law Society is proud to announce David Butow has been accepted as a new member. David’s reputation, history of dedication and excellence have earned him recognition and the Boards’ “America’s Top Lawyer” distinction.
Mr. Butow is currently Vice President and General Counsel of the Climate Segment; a USD 10 billion revenue global business at Ingersoll Rand. His experience is cross-functional as he has geographically dispersed legal teams to successfully conclude high-profile, high-value, time-sensitive, strategic transactions in the fields of Mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, capital markets and finance, securities and SEC matters, and debt offerings and other credit matters. Many of these transactions have involved heightened scrutiny from regulators. Mr. Butow organized an exceptional team of 20 individuals that provide legal support serving as strategic partners within the Ingersoll Rand business unit.
Mr. Butow attended Washington & Lee University School of Law earning his Doctor of Law. He participated in the Washington & Lee Law Review and was a Phi Delta Phi. He also attended Northwestern University obtaining his B.A. as a Double Major in; History & Philosophy during 1997 and was a Phi Kappa Sigma, a Resident Assistant International Residential and also a part of the College of Commerce & Industry Entrepreneur Club. David is tri-fluent in English, French, and Spanish. He has lived abroad and possesses international practice jurisdictions from Asia to Europe and New York City.
Mr. Butow’s reputation and excellence were recognized in 2014 when he won the Corporate Counsel Award by Charlotte Business Journal. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences focused on legal issues and M&A matters. David joined the American Law Society to network with his peers.
