About William Nebeker

William A. Nebeker has been described as a “Lawyer’s lawyer” and a “bet the company Litigator”. He earned this reputation through years of trial work by first defending various municipalities in a myriad of cases as House Counsel for insurer Home Insurance, and then by representing through trial many other clients, product manufacturers, and ultimately all of the major public homebuilders in lawsuits involving injuries and damages reaching into the $100,000,000 dollar range. Mr. Nebeker has tried to conclusion over 65 civil jury trials. 

As a result of his vast experience as a trial lawyer, Mr. Nebeker has achieved many distinguished awards and honors. These include being selected as one of the first lawyers certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization for personal injury and wrongful death litigation. In addition, Mr. Nebeker was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) as an Advocate Level Member and has been named a Super Lawyer for the Southwest Region of the United States for the past four years. Through peer review, he was also selected into Fellowship by the Litigation Counsel of America, a Trial Lawyer Honorary Society. Recently, he was included into the Arizona’s Finest Lawyers organization devoted to identifying the top 10% of Arizona lawyers. Mr. Nebeker is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell®, the highest peer review rating for legal ability and ethical standards. Mr. Nebeker is State Chair for the Counsel on Litigation Management and serves as a Board Member within the Home Builder’s Association of Central Arizona (HBACA). He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Arizona Association of Defense Lawyers and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. Mr. Nebeker is an active member of the Arizona and California Bar Associations. 

William A. Nebeker was the founding partner of the Phoenix office for the law firm of Koeller, Nebeker, Carlson & Haluck, LLP. His practice areas include construction litigation, product liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Nebeker received his B.S. degree in political science from Arizona State University and his J.D. degree from Pepperdine University School of Law. 

Mr. Nebeker is a recognized national speaker on construction litigation issues and has successfully represented developers and general contractors in all phases of litigation for the past 30 years in both Arizona and California. Mr. Nebeker has spoken at and presented written materials for the following organizations: The State Bar of Arizona; The Maricopa County Bar Association; Claims and Litigation Management Alliance; Defense Research Institute; MC Consultants’ Construction Law Seminars; West Coast Casualty; Mealey Publications; Lorman Educational Services; and National Business Institute. 

The Arizona office, currently managed by Mr. Nebeker, includes five partners and five associate attorneys as well as four paralegals. The caseload involves traditional litigated cases including automobile, premises, and product liability. In addition, in the construction defect arena, the firm is currently representing Beazer Homes, Courtland Homes, Maracay Homes, Meritage Homes, D.R. Horton Homes, Toll Brothers, Shea Homes and Pulte/Del Webb Homes. Recently, this firm was named Pulte Homes Litigation Counsel of the Year (2006 and 2008).
