About John E. Reid


Attorney John E. Reid is the firm’s founding principal and handles matters in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, estate planning, estate administration, wills, probate, and business law.  Prior to founding his own firm, John was Of Counsel to Tobin, O’Connor & Ewing, Washington, D.C.  John is frequently retained by individuals, investment funds and corporate clients to handle complex transactions and lawsuits involving title insurance and real property matters.

John served as a law clerk for the Honorable Steven G. Chappelle, witnessing numerous civil and criminal trials, observing court-sponsored mediations, and contributing to written opinions and orders. He is a member of the D.C. Bar Real Estate, Housing and Land Use Section (currently Chair of the Transactions Committee), D.C. Bar Estates, Trust & Probate Law Section and has been involved with the Maryland Bar Association’s Real Property Section, Foreclosure Subcommittee, Estates and Trust Law Section, D.C. Land Title Association (Board Member), Thurgood Marshall American Inn of Court, and the Montgomery County Bar Association. In 2010, he was appointed by County Executive Isaiah Leggett to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs.  John has been an active member of the National Tax Lien Association for several years and has been a speaker at various events.
