I’m a Tampa Tax Attorney who got behind on my taxes when I should have known better. As a result, it caused a lot of negative emotions to surface in my life I wasn’t prepared for in the slightest. Fear, confusion, and embarrassment being the big three. Now that the problem is behind me, I’m enjoying life more than ever with my family.

Everything I do is for my family, so I felt horrible that I put their well-being into jeopardy because of my IRS problem. My stomach still gets sick sometimes remembering back to that time.

Everyone who falls behind on taxes has a story to tell on how it happened. My story is familiar enough. A successful side business I owned went boom and then bust in a relatively short period.

During the boom, it seemed as if money would keep rolling in forever. So I went out and had a lot of fun with the money and bought a lot of goodies. I also got lazy with my estimated tax payments for some knucklehead reason. Then when the industry my side business went under, my earnings busted right along with it.

Even today, years later, I have no idea why I made the decisions I did that year. As a tax lawyer, I should have known better than to fall behind on my taxes. But it happened, and I had to come to grips with the embarrassment I felt before I could solve the problem.

Maybe you feel a little embarrassed yourself about your tax problem. If so I’d like you to stop doing that this instant. We’re only human and, as a result, we are quite prone to making mistakes. So quit being so hard on yourself.

The important thing though is that you learn from your mistakes once you get them corrected. Helping people get squared up with the IRS is much more than a profession to me. As a Tampa tax attorney, I have dedicated my life towards helping the little guy when the government is on his back. I guess I’m just a sucker for the underdog.

When a person, regardless of who he or she may be, is dealing with the IRS, that person will always be the underdog. Going through the problem myself gave me a new understanding of how you may be feeling about your problem.

For instance, I worried about getting my wages garnished, or my bank account seized. I knew if either of those two things happened that would have spelled DISASTER for my family in the short term. Have you caught yourself worrying about either of those things?

Life is too short to spend it worrying about a tax problem. But that didn’t stop me from doing it anyway. My biggest fear was that my family was going to suffer because of my mistake AND there was nothing I could do about it. Maybe you can relate to that feeling of helplessness.

It’s important to understand that worry and helplessness go together like milk and cookies. So it’s hard to experience the one without also experiencing the other. So even though you may feel helpless at this moment, I want you to understand that you’re not. You have options. Some of those options may even solve your tax problem outright.

Clearly, I was NEVER going to get anywhere if I relied on the problem solving itself. So I got to work…
…and built my Tampa tax lawyer practice up to what it is today with a lot of hard work.

So to solve my tax problem I first helped hundreds of clients solve their IRS Back Taxes problem, which forced me into a MUCH better tax lawyer as a result.

Before getting behind on my taxes, I had plenty of head knowledge on how to help clients fix their IRS problems. But now I have heaps and heaps of heart knowledge to add to that head knowledge.

IRS Problems have a way of ruining all aspects of your life without someone deliberately trying to scare you over it. They take enough of a toll on you financially, physically, and emotionally as it is.
